I actually got a little suspicious of all the 5 star reviews that I had continued to read about the warn scope mounts, so I decided to try them myself. Turns out, that these reviews you are reading are right! I love these things! They are solid steel, quick detach, scope mounts just as they say. The only real difference other than the quality that I see in these mounts and not in other mounts of the same quality are the little center pieces that fit in the grove of the weaver mount. I think they call it a recoil lug, or something of that nature. If you are skeptical just as I was, try them! I also spoke briefly with the USA based company and they are very friendly people! They support their product and expect only the best of their product!Just a little side not, I found only 1 review on amazon for Warne mounts that was not 5 stars, that is because the guy ordered solid steel rings and expected them to be "not heavy." Maxima Quick Detach Rings are the most durable and versatile quick detachable mounting system available. Each ring is precision CNC machined from sintered steel technology. When used on the all steel Warne Maxima bases, we guarantee accuracy of within 1/1000th of an inch when removing and reattaching the optics. The recoil control key guarantees the position of the rings will not shift or move under fierce recoil and also protects against peening or swaging when mounted on aluminum bases.
