The main catching surface is pretty sticky (a lot better than the leather gloves I used previously). Price pretty reasonable. Personally, I would get a pair of these instead of the more expensive $40 gloves. These gloves work great when dry and I should note are not as bulky as the picture makes them look. I tried them two weekends ago in the rain however and ended up taking them off. They got really slick to the point where gripping a flag was even difficult.
